What is Psychosomatic Therapy
Somatic psychotherapy is a body-based approach to therapy that integrates psychology with awareness of the body, movement, breath, and sensation. It recognizes that trauma, stress, and emotional pain are often held in the body and that real healing happens when we bring those experiences into relationship, expression, and integration.
This work is not about “fixing” you, but about supporting you to:
Reconnect with your body and emotions
Release stored tension, trauma, and protective patterns
Build resilience and emotional regulation
Heal relational dynamics that keep repeating
Cultivate authenticity, vitality, and presence in your life
How I Practice
My approach to somatic psychotherapy is grounded in the Principles of Radical Aliveness, which I strive to live by and share with the people I work with:
Cultivating a Non-Shaming Heart and Attitude – seeing our own and others’ goodness, so that vulnerability and deep healing can emerge.
Knowing I Don’t Know – staying curious and open, rather than judging or assuming.
Welcoming Multiple Perspectives – honoring differences, even when we don’t always agree.
Being Willing to Be Changed – allowing transformation through the unknown.
Saying YES to Everything (even our NO!) – welcoming all feelings so that we can stay, transform, and know ourselves more deeply.
Alongside these principles, my training in psychology, energy healing, the Radical Aliveness Institute, and the Core Energetics Institute deeply inform the way I practice.
What You Can Expect in a Session
Negative life experiences, often beginning in early childhood, can cause us to disconnect from our innate essence. We adapt our behavior to “fit in” with caregivers, which helps us survive but leaves parts of us behind. This creates blocks in our system, separating us from who we truly are.
In our sessions, we bring awareness to all aspects of you; mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual, so that your life-force energy can flow again. Together we:
Identify and gently release patterns that no longer serve you.
Welcome and give expression to emotions, sensations, and impulses that may have been suppressed.
Reconnect you with your inner knowing and vitality.
The work is experiential, relational, and creative. With my support, we unblock what has been held back so you can transform suffering into authenticity, connection, intimacy, trust, pleasure, and presence.
